Normal A1C, but slightly high fasting glucose

Lab results:

Recent:
Fasting Glucose: 5.6 mmol/L | 100.9019 mg/dl
Hemoglobin A1C: 5.6%

6 Months ago:
Fasting Glucose: 5.6 mmol/L | 100.9019 mg/dl
Hemoglobin A1C: 5.5%

My A1C seems totally fine, but fasting glucose seems to be borderline.
I’ve made some diet changes and lost a few pounds between the 6 months but the number seems to be exactly the same.
Should I pretty much treat myself as a pre-diabetic?

Those values are not terribly elevated, but these previous discussions on the forum may be helpful.

Thank you, it seems like the advice is to lose weight + exercise.

Age: 31
Height: 5’7
Weight: 143lbs
Ethnicity: Asian

I have a BMI of around 22, Would it be beneficial to just lose even more weight at this point?
I did have a ultrasound of my liver around 2 years ago, and they did see some fat around it.

Is another ultra sound something I should pursue/further testing on my liver?

I don’t think we have enough information here to make confident recommendations. Things like your current waist measurement, training history/status, and current typical dietary intake may all be factors that could influence recommendations, which may be better discussed in detail via a consultation. Short of that, I would aim to get your waist measurement down into ethnicity-specific ranges, ensure you are meeting or exceeding current physical activity guidelines for strength & conditioning activity, and follow the general principles of a health-promoting dietary pattern that we have discussed.

Thanks Doctor!
