Overtrained and starving

So I’ve been doing a 6 days a week PPL and I’m pretty sure I either overtrained and or also under ate. Definitely my sleep has been horrendous so my programming probably isn’t suited for me. So last Thursday I became way more fatigued then I could remember being where I felt shortness of breathe from Thursday night to about Sunday. I kept having to take extra sharp breaths which was weird for me. I immediately stopped training and just tried to eat around 140-150 grams of protein and total calories are around 2200-2400 5’6” 181 45yrs. I feel a lot better now but even though I’m eating more I’m super hungry and I haven’t even been training. Is this normal? I’m just hitting steps 8-10k besides that I’m sedentary.

Sounds like you may be sick/have been sick. I think when people underconsume for a bit, most end up compensating later on via increased appetite and intake. This is one reason why sustained weight loss is so difficult.

I would advise returning to training, though 6x/wk lifting can be too much for many. I don’t think real overtraining syndrome occurs with resistance training, but non functional overreaching is certainly possible.
