Since performing the RDLs in Day 2, Week 1 of this template, the lower portion of my hamstrings, particularly right above the back of the knee, have been very sore for the past 4 days. I finished The Bridge right before starting this template. Once I warmed up for Deadlifts for Day 3, Week 1 it felt fine. But today, they continue to be sore to the point of being irritating when walking. Is this normal? And is it safe to continue training? I was planning on starting Week 2 today but am a bit hesitant and was wondering if another day of rest would be wise. I would be completing Weeks 1 and 2 with no 2 day break in between due to missing my scheduled start to Week 1 last week. Thank you, and I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.
Sounds like you may just be experiencing hamstring DOMS from the RDLs (or you may have gone a bit too heavy), which tends to improve with continued training and repeated exposure. You may need to adjust the training loads a bit, but otherwise I wouldn’t freak out about it.
