Peri Rx on Rest Days

Good afternoon Jordan,

I searched for an answer to this question on the forum, but couldn’t find one. I hope my asking isn’t redundant:

On rest days, should the two separate servings of Peri Rx each be taken with a meal or between meals?

My understanding is that the 2x/day recommendation for taking Peri Rx holds for non-training days. However, I was curious as to whether or not taking Peri Rx with a whole-food meal might be redundant given the leucine content of a recommended meal.

Thank you for all that you do! I’ve enjoyed your content and supplements massively!

I would keep it split into 2 doses on off days as well .

Thanks for the quick response Jordan! I really appreciate it.

Does it matter when I take those doses? Or if I take them with/without a meal?

I thought peri rx was a pre/post workout supplement?
is there any advantage to taking it on non training days? Is there anything detrimental to not taking it on non training days?

Doesn’t matter at all for either question, but take it 2x/day.

It is a collection of supplements that likely help training results, but they are typically dosed daily and not only on workout days.

If you don’t take the ingredients at the recommended dose , which includes the dosing schedule, the efficacy of the ingredient is likely compromised.

Thank you again Jordan! Makes sense.

Folks at my gym were super interested in what I was drinking post-workout and I was happy to send them your way!

I’m confused. The label says designed as a peri workout supplement, and the dose is 1 scoop 20-30 min before and one scoop after workout.

It does not say take it daily. As I understand it, taking this on workout days doesn’t compromise efficacy. Otherwise the label would say take daily right?

As I understand it, Old and Fat, this supplement was designed so that if one was to take a peri-workout supplement, these would be the ingredients they should take, in their appropriate dosages (i.e. they are the supplements best-supported by current evidence to improve performance and recovery, respectively).

That said, the ingredients listed are maximally efficacious when taken daily. The two are not mutually exclusive.

The label says to take 20-30 minutes preworkout, and also post workout. I interpreted this is as the recommended doesage, and dosage schedule. Had I not joined this forum, I’d never had known its optimally dosed daily, as well as pre/post training.

If this is is the case then I’d suggest adding “for optimal results, also, take twice daily on non training days”. Double your sales!

in your opinion how compromised would the results only dosing pre/post training? I’m in Canada so with shipping, and currency exchange I’d be looking at up to 175 monthly for peri dosed daily. I can justify this because I easily save this amount by not eating at mc Donald’s since I started strength training.

Is ssomethng better than nothing, or should I be all in?

Yea it’s hard to say exactly, as most of the supplements included have “wash out” periods lasting days to weeks long so it’d be hard to imagine that all of the effect would eliminated with every other day dosing. If I had my druthers, I’d take creatine and beta alanine daily.

I’m already taking 5 grams of creatine on the non peri rx days. Beta Alinine has been ordered. Can I take the 6.4 grams at once, with the creatine, or should I split it twice a day?

I appreciate your honesty. Your a good man.

I think the best practice is to do 3.2g twice per day of beta alanine currently.
