PeriRx + Whey Early morning Training

Dear Dr Feigenbaum,
Thanks you all your great content.

I was seeking your opinion on the combination of Peri-RX and whey when I train pre-breakfast and can’t really fit in or face a meal before workout.
Also - full disclosure - I can’t get your products in my location so have essentially made it your recipe from locally available products. My whey also has less leucine than yours (about 25% less)
So, in your opinion:
If I tend to take whey with milk (and a banana as suggested by Dr Baraki in one of your videos) before my workout - should I take my homemade knockoff perirx around the same time to get maximal leucine. Or is this excessive and would i be better off to make a preworkout minus the EAA and leave them in the postworkout?

Also if you wouldn’t mind elaborating on why there are 2 peri-rx -one with BCAA + HMB and another with EAA and no HMB.

Thank you

DRG,

I would just take the whey as your pre workout meal and then take your supplements (that make up peri) later on.

We changed the formulation of Peri-Rx, as the current evidence suggests HMB doesn’t do anything.

Thanks for the prompt reply and good advice will be easier to manage.

One further detail - if I am not taking peri-RX pre and post work but some time during the day - am I best to take the pre+post dose combined or does it still need to be divided dosing?

Thanks again
Dr G

I think it’s probably better to split it up.
