Peri-rx + Whey after training

Hi Jordan,

I tried posting an hour ago, but my post doesn’t appear to have made it to the forums. I apologize if somehow the original shows up and this ends up being a double post.

I am waiting for some Peri-Rx to arrive in the mail. This will be the first time I’ve supplemented with anything other than caffeine and whey (if you consider that a supplement). Hopefully the answer to my question isn’t obvious.

It might be bro-science, but I’ve always understood that it is beneficial to eat and/or have a protein shake after training, and that is my general routine. I usually train between 9:00am and 10:30am, with a shake afterwards. Two shakes a day tends to get my macros where they should be, and 10:30 fits nicely between breakfast and lunch. Considering the additional BCAA’s in Peri-Rx, are there any implications to continuing my routine of a shake after training, or should I fit the shake in at a different time of day?

Thanks in advance.

I would say that while a protein shake is a good source of amino acids and, in general, eating an amino acid rich meal post training is a good idea- it’s not strictly necessary, rather you could eat a whole foods based meal and be fine. I would probably not mix Peri Rx and Whey, as the amino acids are redundant. The other supplements in Peri are useful IMO, so I’d just do that and eat a whole foods based meal instead- about 30 min post Peri Rx. You could do whey in place of the whole foods meal.
