Planned layoffs and starting a new template

Hi everyone and an enthusiastic thanks in advance for your help.

I’m wrapping up my second run through of The Bridge this Friday and have purchased the Hypertrophy/GPP template as my follow-up.

However, I have also planned to have corrective eye surgery (PRK, not LASIK) in what would be weeks 5 (right eye) and 7 (left eye) if I were to start next week. Having read some threads on that other site about LASIK and lifting, and having asked the surgeon, I will probably need to take at least two light workouts post-surgery, which effectively throws the program out of whack enough that I thought I’d ask for some advice.

Should I do something else for the 4 weeks between now and the first surgery and save the new template for July? My sense of these programs is that you are accumulating and dissipating stress in ways that would be negatively affected by two weeks of easy training (no training Monday of surgery, light Wed and Fri) with one in between.

I’m tempted to go back and repeat some early weeks of the Bridge again, but I’ve also been enjoying the singles work in the second half. What would you recommend? Thanks.

I would go ahead and train using the template as planned until your first surgery, and just take a low stress week after your surgeries.

Then, if you want to run it again this summer, you can do that as well.
