Plantar Fasciitis

Hi,

I have been experiencing pain in my feet, mostly heels, on and off for a few years and I’m assuming it’s Plantar Fasciitis.

I don’t work in a job where I’m on my feet a lot and I haven’t recently increased the time spent on my feet. In fact, I’ve only ran around 5 times this year compared to around twice a week in 2023.

Are there any other potential causes of Plantar Fasciitis that aren’t in your article on the subject, e.g. a nutritional deficiency?

Thanks

I would not expect an isolated nutritional deficiency to directly cause plantar fasciitis.

However, your assumption that it is PF may not be correct. There are other potential causes of foot / heel pain beyond just PF that may merit evaluation. For example, if a patient is at particular risk of nutritional deficiency, then something like stress fracture may be considered.

Thanks Austin
