Possible for weightlifting sweat to smell worse than "normal" aerobic sweat?

Serious question, but I wouldn’t blame you for not approving/answering

If I mow the lawn (summer here in Atlanta, Ga) in the heat & humidity I will sweat tremendously. I don’t smell myself.

If I lift for 80 minutes, I can’t stand myself midway through the session.

While it’s certainly possible that there a billion other factors at play, I swear that weightlifting sweat (on me) stinks way worse than other sweat.

I don’t shower before lifting nor do I shower before cutting the grass. I know that the stink is bacteria breaking down stuff in the sweat and not the sweat itself, but I’m not sure how that could happen in an hour of weightlifting or an hour or so of cutting the grass.

… what about the fact that you’re walking around in the open air while mowing your lawn, versus sitting still in a stuffy garage / gym?

It’s the same sweat.

Use more deodorant / Gold bond powder.

Soured clothes from previous training maybe?

I feel like stress sweat smells different than normal heat/aerobic sweat, and that’s why I smell worse lifting even though I’ll sweat way more in a hour of cardio.

@andycrawford - not a bad idea but my clothes have been washed. We’re looking at trying a stronger detergent though!
