Stretch marks

I have gained a lot of weight recently. about 30 pounds in the last year, I still look in good shape(have abs in good lighting). I devoloped terrible stech marks (I thought it was a rash).
I went to to the dermatologist, who first asked me if i was on steroids. After i told him i wasn’t. He told me i had torn small muscles and my skin. He prescribed me a cream, told me i i shouldn’t lift weights for two months, or gain any more weight.
does this happen to many lifters? should I really stop squatting pr deadlifting?

It happens to people who gain a lot of weight very rapidly.

I have no reason to believe that not lifting would impact this at all.

So I should keep training even though i have torn small muscles?

How, exactly, did they determine you had torn muscles again?

The doctor took a look and decided I had torn some muscles.

That is likely to be bullshit.
