Possible LLD?

Hi folks

I suspect a possible leg length discrepancy in my right side for a number of reasons;

  • uneven stance during squats and deadlifts - most noticeably in deadlift as one leg appears to touch the bar at a higher point on my shin than the other
  • slight heel lift on one side at the bottom of the squat
  • increasingly uneven bar as a set progresses - as I fatigue during squats in particular one side seems to ‘drop’ more than the other - can be evidenced by plates sliding on this side
  • ‘windmilling’ of the bar as a set progresses in squat, press and deadlift - possibly from twisting to one side
  • recurring sciatic/hip/lower back pain on one when weights start to become challenging that lasts unless I take a break from squatting and deadlifting heavy for a few weeks

The last point is particularly frustrating as I am struggling to make progress with constant layoffs and resets. Just posting to ask are these common tell-tales of LLD issues? If not what are in your experience? What is the best way to go about diagnosing and treating/working around?

Aside - thank you for all the incredible content you guys continue to put out.

Many thanks
Jim

Unfortunately, the significance of minor asymmetries is vastly overstated in the training world, so you may or may not have a significant LLD. Can’t tell from this information alone.

Have you ever been coached or gotten a form check? Look to the BBM Facebook group for some help with that as a first step.

Thanks Austin, will see if I can set up some form checks over there.
