First of all, thanks for the prompt support you all give. I have recently bought the powerbuilding 2, but after reading through some questions on this forum, I want to be sure I wouldn’t be better off doing the number 1.
I was on the fierce 5 beginner for about 8 months (3x week, full body, linear progression). After that I couldn’t really increase the weight, so I switched to the fierce 5 intermediate (4x week upper/lower). I did it for about 4 months, I hurt my lower back because of my good morning squats, so I dropped the weight and I’ve been working on my form. Now I’m feeling good again and I wanted to give BBM programs a try.
I chose the powerbuilding 2 based on the months of experience required and because I couldn’t see progress working out 3x a week anymore. Here are my numbers - all E1RM:
Hey Jordan - thanks for the reply. I guess this is one of the downsides of buying the templates with so little information, but how is the volume on the powerbuilding I ? I am asking because I couldn’t really progress when I was doing a full body 3x a week and from my (very inexperienced) research, the reason was because I needed more volume. And after switching to 4x a week I saw progress again. I just wanna be 100% sure before buying a new template.
Also just some feedback from a consumer perspective, it is very hard to choose a template with the little information that is given on the online store. For example, for the powerlifting 2 it says that the program is for people that “Have significant previous experience (>6-9 months) training with barbells.” and 4 lifting days a week; for the powerlifting 1, it says "Have some previous experience (>3 months) " and 3 lifting days a week.
So given this little information you can see why I made the wrong choice. Not a sour criticism or anything (I am a huge fan of the work you guys do) - just trying to offer some feedback from an inexperienced client perspective. I think it would be really helpful to have some more guidance in choosing a program on the store.
Also, not sure if it was a sneaky user, but on the topic Recommended Lifting Gear & Equipment [possible sticky] - section Clothing, the second link has a text “www.amazon.com/…”, but it actually links to a different domain “young_la._com…” - very sketchy!
Yea I do think powerbuilding 2 would have been fine if you were coming straight off the previous program without injury, but I’m assuming you’re working back up to that previous level of training and that’s why I recommended Powerbuilding 1.
