So two years ago i feel off a rope at the gym onto my back and messed up my lat right under my right shoulder blade. Occasionally it flares up. Yesterday i tweaked it again during squats and now it is noticeably swelled and inflamed. I have a competition next weekend so i would hate to take time completely off. Any ideas how to heal it quicker (other than ice, NSAIDs) and what to do to strengthen the area/prevent more problems in the future?
He @Csclouse , sorry to hear about this issue. How have you been managing since your original post? Has the competition already passed, and if so how did things go?
In regards to your question, we really don’t have solid evidential support for anything expediting healing outside of time.
Competition went well. No pain during any of my lifts. It’s just very odd, it flares up with strange movements and lasts for about a week then goes away. I was just curious if there was anything that would help strengthen that area and prevent the same thing in the future.
Gotcha. Glad to hear the competition went well.
