BBM Team,
I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I could not find the answer using the search function.
When transitioning from week 8 to 9, the back-off sets for the first two movements of each day go from -5% to -8%, and the set cap increases. However, when going from week 9 to 10, the press and comp bench switch back to -5% and the set cap decreases, while the other four movements remain at -8% with the higher set cap.
Is this by design, or should the press and comp bench for week 10 follow the week 9 pattern of -8% for the back off sets like the other movements do? I have version 3.0 of PB I.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
Just wanted to say: thanks for asking this question, Steve! I’m currently heading into Week 6 of PB I and had completely missed the switch from 5 to 8% up ahead. What’s more: I always write out / transpose my programming in advance into my own personal, consistent format for hardcopies…and I had already copied out all of PB in weeks ago…and I had incorrectly copied weeks 9 and 10. Since I didn’t even have a plan to put eyes on the BBM template again until after I was through the run, your post was the only conceivable way I had of catching the error in time.
How have results been for you?
I’m just finishing the first 5-week phase. Quite happy to see obvious adaptations to all of the ramping lower-body volume. Bench seems to have stagnated due to the low frequency - but I’m hoping that all of the (oft-neglected for me) shoulder work in the first half will pay some dividends later on.
