Would it be too much to add a recreational team sport 1-2x per week with the Olympic lifting template without it massively effecting the program? I enjoy strength training training but also enjoy sports that aren’t strength sports.

I generally wouldn’t see any issue with it, though the frequency doesn’t tell the whole story about volume and training load. Compare a single rec softball game or practice on a Tuesday night to a triple-header or a contact sport. Some consideration should also be made for an individual’s history and preparedness for the sport, as it’s likely newbies are going to generate a lot of fatigue if they’re uninitiated.
That all being said, I think you’re likely to be fine. I might cut lifting (but not conditioning) volume by 20% for 2-3 weeks when you start, then go up 10% every 2-3 weeks until at “full dose” training, though this is more of a hedge against overreaching than anything scientific.
