Rerun PBI, or advance to II?

Hi Docs,

I’m in the last week of Powerbuilding I. This is my 2(.5)nd time running the template and it’s working pretty well for me so far. Right now I’m trying to map out where to go from here. I plan on competing at some point this year, but not in the next 3 months, so I’m pretty set on either repeating PBI or moving on to PBII.

I’ve been considering switching from a 3-day to a 4-day program, but right now my work schedule is such that I only have a little bit of time on Thursday to work out. I can squeeze in my GPP, but there’s not enough time for a full lifting day. This is fine for the 3-day programs, but for 4-days I’d probably have to swap the Wednesday GPP and Thursday full day. Do you have any particularly strong opinions about this? I’m also curious about the overall workload going from 3 to 4 days. Is each day more or less the same (i.e., overall weekly training volume increases by 33%) or are things a little more spread out?

Thanks!

PS. Will the Lift Support youtube videos be making a return?

Newton90,

I think if you’re having great results on PB I, it’s reasonable to stick with that template unless you want to train more (PBII) and/or have more freedom with picking the exercises (PB III). The training load is about 20-30% higher depending on the template and block. I do not have any issues with folks swapping the days around. You will get used to it

Not sure when the next Lift Support video will go up. Nobody really watches them and they’re quite time intensive to make. I enjoy interacting with people and discussing exercise obviously, so we’ll see if I can get more eyes on it.
