I have run your beginner template and am now running powerbuilding I, enjoying it a lot too.
I want my next template to be a 4 day template and I want to focus on the powerlifts (but I like OHP too), I currently have 6-7 months “experience” with your kind of programming (did bro style lifting before but I dont count it).
1 - Having said that, which would you recommend for me next, strenghlifting II, powerlifting II or strength III?
2 - Should I wait and keep doing 3 day templates (strength I for example) until I dont see any more progress before jumping up to 4 day ones? Is this line of reasoning even correct?
I’m gonna wait until I finish powerbuilding 1 by the way, which should take me at least 2 more months.
Thanks for the post and I’m glad you’re liking the program.
I think if you are doing well with powerbuilding I, you could just do it again. If you want something else, then it would depend on your goals for me to steer you in the right direction. I don’t think you need a 4-day template yet if you’re getting good results on the programs so far, but I don’t think it’s an absolute requirement to stay with 3 day templates if you want to train more. More like personal preference.
Yeah I’m kinda getting the itch to enter a competition once covid settles down here in Brazil (who knows when that will be…), hence my wanting to move to a more strength focused template.
I could resist the urge to switch to a 4 days a week template if I had to, from a purely utilirarian point of view (where utility is derived from maximum mid/long term strength gains), does it make any difference whether I switch now or wait until later? My line of thinking was that I should “run this well dry” with regards to 3 day templates, before switching to 4 day ones, and that maybe would give me “maximum gainzz”, am I just overthinking this? haha
What if the additional training drives gainzZz faster than the 3-day template though? I think you could make a case for either decision. In any event, Strength I or II would be my rec.
