Which template to get if I don't compete?

I want to get my first template. However, I’m neither a new lifter, nor a strong man already. As a reference, I can deadlift 100kg, squat 90kg, bench 50kg, and press 30kg.

I would like to get stronger but also maintain a lean and aesthetic body year round. I’m 190cm tall and weigh 80kg. I just want to feel strong and good about myself because I’m currently weak, and although I’m a little lean (still have a small amount of visible body fat), I would like a more aesthetically pleasing body as well.

I was thinking about getting the beginner template but idk if it’s gear more towards people who haven’t been lifting recently or people who want to participate in power-lifting because I saw that it focuses on the big 3.

The bodybuilding template also looks attractive but idk if it’s gonna help me get stronger as well.

I’ve been lifting for a few years now but I didn’t follow a specific progression, so I ended up not making much progress. I’ve also been taking at least 6000 steps a day and do HIIT (burpees) at least once per week.

What would be the right template for me right now?

Howdy,

Thanks for the post! Given your training history and fitness level, I’d put you on the Beginner Template for the first two blocks, which should last you ~ 12 to 20 weeks depending on how you respond to it. Afterwards, it would be a good time to reassess goals. For strength, I’d recommend then moving to block 3 of the beginner template. For hypertrophy, I’d consider hypertrophy I or powerbuilding I (if you still wanted some strength).

Awesome. I’m gonna run through the beginner template and gain some strength. I should also be gaining muscle as well according to the podcast. Thanks for the help!

Yep, I agree!
