RPE overshooting

Hi BBM team,

my my question is that during your templates I’ve been reserved in my urge to go for more when doing the singles @8 on your powerbuilding 1 template. But I’ve noticed after joining your Facebook page so many people will push this.
My question is do you suggest this if your feeling a new PR go for it or stay reserved and stick to the RPE and plan a peak and test rather than halfway through a template ?

As i know if I did a 1@10 I know the rest of my workout would probably be effected negatively.

It depends on context, e.g. is the person a very experienced trainee with the primary goal of driving their 1RM up or is it a fairly new, general fitness trainee? In general, we don’t recommend overshooting the RPE, but calling an audible and smashing a new PR may be highly valuable to an individual. This modification should be used sparingly, however.

I wouldn’t modify the rest of the workout at all, if possible.
