About 9 months ago I got what I can only describe as a severe cramping sensation in my right inner thigh whilst benching (after I had squatted). The cramping took several minutes to subside, couldn’t be alleviated by ‘stretching it out’, and remained ‘on edge’ and tender for some days after, often re-cramping if I put my leg in certain positions (e.g raising my knee up). Since then this has reoccurred periodically every few months or so, most recently after playing football (soccer). I’ve also experienced cramping in my delts, neck, and hamstrings with less severity but it’s still annoying, although I’m not convinced these are related as these feel significantly different and less intense than the thigh cramps. I ensure I get ample sodium in my diet and add salt to my workout drinks, and keep well hydrated during workouts so I’m not sure if this is a hydration issue. Any ideas what this could be and ways rehab it?
If it helps I’m 29yo, 92kg. Lift 3-4 times a week as well as either running or football for cardio. Never had any related or long term medical conditions and generally in good health
Hey, thanks for the questions. Generally speaking these scenarios are related to fatigue more than anything. You may try altering dosage of activity if cramps are regularly occurring and interfering with daily life.
