Shoulder Injuries and Training

After a heavy bench set, I felt a twinge in my shoulder. It never really went away, however, I am no longer able to bench, press, or even get into a proper squat position without pain. I can’t say which muscle specifically, but based on what I’m reading it sounds like it has to do with a rotator cuff.

If one has a minor tear in their rotator cuff, would you recommend rest, or training through light enough where no pain is felt?
