Hi,
On Saturday, I felt some weird thing happen in my shoulder during my first jujitsu trial (my very first class, so it was low intensity). During one of the moves I felt as if my shoulder subluxated posteriorly, (either from a reaching movement or trying to block) but it wasn’t that serious so I ignored it. It caused me no pain and I was even able to bench after the class no problem. Fast forward to Monday while at work, I felt as if I subluxated my shoulder posteriorly again while trying to pull a trap bar that was stuck against another trap bar in the barbell holder, but worse this time. I’ve always had painful clicks in that shoulder when I would do certain movements such as reaching for something, so I’m not sure if jujitsu was the cause of this.
The next day on Tuesday I was able to find an entry point for squats and bench with minimal pain (I referred to one of the articles on pain and it was very helpful, thank you!) Should I be doing some other work to address this shoulder subluxation issue? I don’t do anything now but low bar squat, bench, deadlift, and variations of those three. I used to do GPP, but I haven’t for a while now. I was thinking that adding a GPP day with planks and some dumbbell rows might help?
Thanks for the help!
