Hello Drs
3 weeks ago while performing bench pin presses albeit incorrectly, I strained my subscapularis
. I am new to pin presses and was placing bar on pins, losing all tightness, then retightening up for the
concentric part of the movement. On 2nd last set I felt a tweak and worked thru last 2 sets.
Since ive tried 1/2 rom bench, close grip light bench, neutral grip dumbell floor presses etc.
i do not want to stop training. I’ve injured this before and I’m not sure if the rotator cuff exercises
etc really helped. Any guidance would be appreciated. Palm on Belly test is positive , bear hug
test positive et. I’ve even tried eccentric only push ups from knees and they were quite painful Thanks
You mentioned the things that you’ve tried to do since the issue began – how have you done with those exercises? How much load are you using on them?
This is a situation where we’d begin with our standard approach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdwj5ORPmX0
Hi Dr,
yesterday i did 3 sets of 15 reps with just bar, 1 set of 65lb, and 2 sets of 95lb. The sets of 95lb were kind of painful. I the tried push-ups from the knees and still kinda painful. I attempted pin presses about 4 inches off chest and still painful. I’ve kinda screwed myself in the past by working thru pain as I’ve had medial epicondylectomies on both elbows about 16 and 20 yrs ago. So I’m trying to really get my technique right so
I don’t have to work thru pain etc .
So based on video
i can start with 65lbs flat bench. How many setsxreps should I start with?
