Slanted Benching

Hello again,

For the last year I have made solid progress on my bench, even though it is slanted. My right side of the bar when benching is always a little higher then the left side, it is not a lock out or an arm length discrepancy issue. When looking down onto me while benching it is also noticeable that my left trap is higher then my right. I tried fixing the unevenness of my traps while benching but my traps always feel ‘tight’, stable and symmetrical. I don’t know what the problem is. I was always aware of it, but never bothered to fix it since It was not a problem, never had pain anywhere and bench always seemed to be improving.

After some months of benching like this I have noticed that my left pec (the slanted side) is a little bigger then my right. I recently started doing block and floor bench and have noticed the unevenness the most here. When doing floor bench my right arm touches the floor before my left making the lift very awkward.

I searched online for some help and found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEOPmrd-tw8). I tried out the same drills and did notice that I could not turn to the right side as far. I don’t really know if this is actually meaningful but just wanted to point it out.

What can I do to fix this problem, and is it even worth fixing it?

Based on your description here, I’m not entirely convinced there’s a “problem” needing to be fixed here.
