Squat asymmetry following injury

I am rerunning the SSLP following a torn labrum in my left hip. While injured, I was unable to walk or stand without pain for about 3 weeks. I received a cortisone shot and now I am able to train without pain. I recorded a video to check my form and noticed my body centerline is shifted significantly to the right. My nose is centered 6 inches from my right heel and 12 inches from my left. What is the recommended way to proceed?

  • Continue to train and add weight expecting symmetry to return over time?
  • Stay at a low weight (135) until I am able to correct my form?
  • Work single leg presses on a machine until balance is returned?
  • A combination of the above techniques?

Thank you for all you guys do here.

I’d post a form check to the BBM FB group.

Sometimes these are things that just need to be “un-learned”, while other times they’re related to asymmetrical setups, severe LLDs (which are RARE), or asymmetrical joint ROMs due to prior injury or osteoarthritis, etc.

Thanks, Austin. I just signed up for BBM FB group. I will post when my request clears.
