SSB Question

What’s the deal with the safety squat bar? I understand that the weight sits differently, so is it working the muscles in a different way? Looking ahead at the Powerbuilding 1 template, which I’ll be starting when I finish the Bridge, I see that SSB squats are an option for exercises some days and was just wondering.

It works the muscles of the trunk and lower body through a slightly different ROM, joint angle, and motor pattern, but more uniquely- changes how the bar is carried on the shoulders. This may be advantageous for higher volume work, which is kind of the idea here.
