Three questions on template choices, barbell rows and GPP days

Hello Dr. Feigenbaum and Dr. Baraki.

I’m on day 2 of the Bridge 1.0. I did some barbell rows today as the program suggested but as it turns out I was meant to do pendlay rows, not barbell rows. My gym does not allow dropping barbells down like that so the first question is should I do barbell rows instead of pendlay rows or should I try to drop the bar down quietly?

I’m not very enthusiastic when it comes to having visible abs. I’m 180 cms tall and 80 kgs at a body fat percentage of 19%. Should I still do GPP days even if body fat percentage doesn’t really bother me?

Last question: I just dived into the Bridge 1.0 after failing my SS NLP. (I had a very tough time recovering from squatting at RPE 10 3 times a week) I can squat 85 kilos for 3 sets of 5 reps right now so I probably am a novice and probably should follow the NLP. What would you recommend in this case, give SS NLP another try, continue the bridge or pick another template up? My main goal is to get big.

GS,

Thanks for the post and hope your training is going well otherwise.

I don’t really care if you do pendlay rows or barbell rows- either is fine. If doing pendlay rows, I would control the eccentric a bit.

For the GPP, yes, I think most folks aren’t active enough and would benefit by doing dedicated conditioning work.

As far as whether you’re a novice or not- I don’t think we can say that based on your lifts. I don’t think there’s any benefit of switching back to SSLP when you have already demonstrated that it doesn’t work for you. I would continue The Bridge for now
