“tingling” in feet

I’ve been experiencing tingling in my feet and toes on and off for about 3 weeks, with this being the second occtuamce. The first time was in the left foot for about 8 weeks in and off, and now I’m the right. It seems to be brought on by physical activity, including walking but it’s not consistent in its activity or made worse. It’s been slowly happening less over time. It’s not associated with any pain, weakness or actual numbness. It feels like it should be numb but I can feel something touching the area. I assume it’ll just go away but I’m curious if these types of symptoms are similar to pain in that they are interpretations and follow all of the same bio psychosocial aspects, or are they more concrete and should be examined? Should be mentioned I’m not overweight or diabetic.

Hey,

Sorry to hear about this issue.
I’d recommend a consultation for individualistic advice on this and for a more in-depth conversation.

Doesn’t sound like anything to be overly concerned with but such symptoms can sometimes be correlated to other underlying issues that may need to be ruled out. I’m not saying this to nocebo you. Yes, symptoms regardless of type are encompassed in the biopsychosocial model but this doesn’t mean we dismiss any and all symptoms and potential correlation to issues that may need to be addressed that effect prognosis and/or quality of life of the individual. Rather, the BPS model postulates the individual (past experiences, perceptions/beliefs, and learned behaviors for example) is paramount in the experience of symptom presentation and case management.
