Tips for transitioning from heeled shoes to flat shoes

I am looking to transition from heeled shoes to flat shoes for squatting because it is hard for me to not squat atg when the weight gets heavy with heels. Therefore, I think a flat shoe will help me not go atg when it gets heavy. I was planning to squat to a rpe 7-8 like I usually do. The only caveat to this is if I am significantly stronger with flats, I will probably only squat a little bit more than I regularly do because I do not want to expose myself to too much too quickly and get hurt. I was wondering if the barbell medicine crew has any other tips for this.

I don’t think it’s likely that you will be able to lift significantly more weight to a point of incurring injury. We’d recommend just sticking to the plan and hit the programmed RPE.
