Flat feet and lifting

hi BBM team I’m a flat footed lifter and have been told I should approach squats differently to someone with a in step But I have never let it effect me personally but what would you recommend someone with flat feet do in terms of squat style or other exercises that may be effected by this?

Thanks in advance.

I don’t think there’s anything special you need to do in order to squats or any other type of barbell exercise with (or without) “flat feet”.

I was thinking the same but I see lots of people really make a big deal about having “flat feet” or a low instep and just wanted to hear your take on it and if you’ve ever coached anyone with flat feet and if you did anything different ?

only issue I think I’ve ever had but can’t be for sure flat feet was the cause but used to get shin splints a lot when running or cross country as a kid.

I think most people aren’t qualified to have an opinion on the topic. I would not change anything related to RT based solely on the presence (or absence) of flat feet.
