Flat Feet

Hi Team,

I have flat feet, i.e. the arches collapse under load.
I would like to hear what your current take on this would be.
Should flat feet be treated; if so, how? Is there any long term remedy possible? Are Inlays for shoes recommended?

Background:
32 years, male, 176cm, 78kg.
Been having flat feet for my whole life.

Thank you in advance!

I also have flat feet. In my experience it is not a reason to train any different than those with normal arches. I do like a shoe with at least some arch support. My Reebok lifting shoes work great for squatting. For deadlift and everything else I use an older Nike flat basketball shoe that has a little arch support. I don’t lift in Chuck Taylors or barefoot. I found most of the information that I came across by googling “squatting with flat feet” to be pretty much worthless. In most of my street shoes I like an arch support insole.

This doesn’t typically alter my advice on training.
