Weightlifting shoe with arch support

Hi,

I’m in the second week of Starting Strength Novice Linear Progression, and I’m looking to buy a pair of weightlifting shoes. For the time being, I’m squatting with a 1’’ wooden platform under my heels, provided by the gym, as I have restricted ankle dorsiflexion, and can’t achieve depth without it. I’ve tried 0.6’’ heel shoes (Adidas Powerlift 2.0), and I couldn’t reach depth with them either.

Also, my ankles overpronate, resulting in flat feet. I do not wear orthotics, since I have never been in any kind of pain walking or running. My coach says that (for the time being) I am keeping my knees out when squatting, so my arch does not actually collapse.

I am looking for a pair of shoes that provides some kind of arch support with its insoles, on top of a well positioned metetarsal strap. When trying out the Powerlift 2.0 I didn’t feel any kind of arch support, despite the shoe being snug. Having read http://www.barbellmedicine.com/quickstart/#shoes , and hoping that a 3/4’’ heel can do the job for me, I’m between the Adidas Power Perfect 2/3 and Reebok Legacy.

Since it’s not mentioned in the review (and I don’t have physical access to the shoes), could you provide me with the information if any of these shoes provides good arch support, or if not, what would the next best option be?

I would get a pair of WL shoes with a higher heel, like the Adidas Leistung shoes.
