After spending the last year+ working through a number of different templates (Bridge 1.0 twice, Powerbuilding I twice, Hypertrophy, At-Home), I decided to give Titan a try. After two weeks, I’ve come to the conclusion that this isn’t for me. Although my conditioning isn’t terrible, it’s not where it needs to be to even come close to the MetCons as RX’d, and despite a very good one-on-one coaching session with a trainer, I really can’t clean or snatch.
However, I would like to develop my conditioning more. Would the S&C template be a better fit for me? If it helps, I’m M/53 with a long training history. Current PRs are D 275, S 185, B 175, OHP 95 if that helps.
Thanks for the post. I agree that the programmed workouts are challenging. What do you think about doing the metcons scaled to say 60% of what’s listed, both in load and in volume (e.g. reps, sets, rounds, etc.)? I’m thinking this could bridge the gap is you enjoy this type of training and then every 2-3 weeks, you could bump the percentage up. I do like the regular conditioning programmed into that template.
Regarding a different template, I think I would favor Gen S/C I or BB I (the 3 day variant) depending on the flavor of lifting you wanted to do.
I think you meant the 3 day variant of BB 2? Unless there is a 3 day version of BB1 that I’ve missed. If it’s BB 2, you’d recommend it’s 3 day version for someone before attempting BB 1?
You’re right, it’s the 3-day version of BB 2. I don’t have a preference which one gets done first. Rather, the # of training days is the primary concern.
You can check out the 1st week of each template for free on the app. This template has a blend of steady state and HIIT work, starting at 2x/wk and working up to 4x/wk by the end. Max conditioning volume is right around 2 hours per week, so not a ton of volume, but the total training load is moderate in my opinion.
