Fellas,
Im on my Second round of LP. Started squats at 185 and ramped up to 290 before I fell apart.
Had some hip IT pain mostly on one side and had to re-examine my squat form. Reset down to 135 and have been working my way back up and am currently at 220.
Exaggerating hip drive seems to have helped my hip pain.
Comparing the squat to all of my other lifts. I am not recovering from squats like all of the other lifts.
DL are at 380 and I am having no problems with recovery and am still progressing just fine.
I am wondering even though I am way below my LP max am I in some sort of overtraing cycle? Or is my form so bad that I should just give up and take up knitting?
@Mspicka sounds like mismanagement of loading and fatigue. This is likely a product of the LP not advocating for subjective tracking markers such as RPE and sRPE. I recommend switching away from LP to another program (perhaps our Bridge program). Your squat technique looks fine from that video.
Sorry for the slow replay. Thank you for the input. I agree with your summation. Having not lifted for years and then ramping up the NLP quickly I believe it just plain wire me out. I have actually taken some time off. I just finished my first week of a short NLP and will move from there to the bridge. I was looking at that one before my break but ended up doing another one.
This next round I want to be sure not to wear myself out and be able to keep going. I want to do another long stint before any breaks.
