Hello all, first post. Subscriber to your YT videos and have signed up/paid to attend your Seattle seminar in September. I’m in my early-mid 30’s, been training on and off since 15, and recommitted two months ago to complete my LP. Right now I’m doing the standard A/B workout from the Grey Book. Everything is going great on dead/press/bench. Squat has been going up as well, but for the first time in my life, I’m experiencing hip pain while squatting. At first is was marginal and barely worth noticing as I approached heavy sets. However over the past two weeks, the pain has become pronounced, and it’s taking days, not hours, to subside to background noise. I’m up to 22535 on the LB squat and can still train through the pain, but it only gets worse the heavier I go, so beginning to raise concerns in my mind. Yesterday, I stopped with LB squat and worked other options: HB squat (still pain), front squat (not as much, but I was also going much lighter), leg press (much less, but a little) and hack squat machine (no pain). As soon as I get about 15 degrees above parallel and below, the pain kicks in.
I’m sure crap form is the culprit, and I’m hoping to get coaching on that at your Seattle seminar. However, do you have any advice on how to work around this, or maybe even work into it, if that’s the best thing to do?
