Upper back exercises

In the beginner template, phase 2, week 7, the upper back gpp increases to 2x /week. Just wanted to check whether it’s advisable to use the same exercise for both slots? To date, I’ve been doing face pulls 1x/week, and planned to do bent rows to the chest for the second weekly workout.
