Using prowler optimally for GPP

Hi coaches!

I’m on week 6 of the Bridge 2.0, which I started after finishing my LP. I’ve been using the prowler at my gym for GPP/conditioning work and I just wanted to ask if you think I’m using it optimally.

I load 80kg onto the prowler and push it for 90secs, then rest 90secs. Repeat this for about 20mins in total.

However, I read on the template to sprint for 30secs every 2mins. I’m following Rip’s instructional video for using the prowler, which is to walk it rather than run with it, in a fairly upright stance and with a heel-to-toe gait.

So, for a 30sec sprint, should I load some more weight and continue walking with it? Or, would you suggest ignoring Rip’s video, and literally sprinting but with a lighter load?

Many thanks!

The GPP in the Bridge is meant to be HIIT interval work, so that would be a lighter sled that you can move quickly for the 30 secs, like you NEED that 1:30 rest after the sprint, and if done this way, you will be absolutely hating the prowler by the end of the sprint sessions. Quick and effective!

Thanks Leah.

I have my next conditioning session tomorrow, so I’ll give that a go. I can’t wait! (that’s a lie, I’m a little apprehensive!!!)

Ha, it is possible that I hate prowler sprints with all my heart. But they are effective.
