I’m starting the Bridge next week and I was wondering:
I’ve been running a 3d x week LP program (not SSLP) and aprox 1-1.5 moths ago I started gradually adding GPP/Conditioning days. Started off with 1gpp and titrated up to 2d x week (1row,1curl 1plank (7min max) AMRAPS @8 +20-30minLISS cardio @130-140bpm). The GPP days that I’m running are very similar to the Bridges’.
My question is should I reduce the GPP days to 1x week for the first weeks like the Bridge suggests (although the Bridge assumes I’m coming from SSLP which has no GPP at all)
Or should I keep my 2x week GPP days and continue with The Bridge and when I get to the HIIT weeks I just switch one of my LISS cardio days to a HIIT day and continue with The Bridge model.
My concerns are that if I reduce my GPP days to 1 what’s the point ? I’m already accustomed to 2x week conditioning, dropping to 1x week would be a step back.
Another consideration is to drop 1 GPP day just for the Low Stress week at the start of the program, just for a break from training (but I don’t feel “beat up” and generally I feel very good outside of the gym)
I’m currently in a caloric deficit.
