Week 4 of the GPP/Hypertrophy Template

Hey BBM crew,

Forgive me if this is a question that has been asked and answered already, because I couldn’t find it in my search.

I’m starting week 4 of the 3-day version of the GPP/Hypertrophy template and noticed that the competition lift volume is reduced to 6@6, 6@7, 6@8 x 2 sets this week, when it has been 6@8 x 3 the past two weeks. I’m just confirming that:

  1. This is not a typo.

  2. Assuming it isn’t a typo, what is the reasoning behind this? Logic tells me that it has something to do with preparing for the singles @ 8 starting the next week (Week 5), but my understanding of the “how” and “why” behind manipulating training variables is still rather limited.

Yes, it’s a bit lower stress week to dissipate some of the accumulated fatigue from the first half before tackling the second half, including heavier singles.
