Hello, I am beginning to look into buying a weightlifting belt. I am running the beginner program. I wanted to know if there is a certain point in training when you feel that a belt would be recommended for deadlifting? Also would you recommend using a belt for performing squats? Thank you.
There is no particular point when a belt is recommended or necessary. If you are interested in getting one, go for it. If you’d prefer to train the rest of your life without one, there is nothing wrong with that either.
Most “serious” lifters will use them for both squatting and deadlifting, yes.
