Recently I’ve felt like prioritizing the press over the bench and I wanted to add BTN pressing as a variation
I’ve been practicing and there’s a bit of a asymmetry in my shoulders
My left shoulder has good “mobility” as in I can move it around however I want without pain. My right shoulder though (for as long as I can remember really) is more limited and certain motions and positions result in a sharp pain. As I said it’s been this way for years so I doubt it’s some kind of hidden tear or break.
My question is should I continue trying to progress this exercise or just find something else?
Hey @Dylan_Priest ,
In this instance I would select a different exercise that you can consistently train without irritating your shoulder. If I’m interpreting your post correctly, your goal is to improve the regular overhead press and the BTN press is being used as a secondary movement. Maybe sub in a DB press, machine press, or landmine press instead and see which one feels the best.
