So just found out yesterday that from tomorrow until next Thursday have to go away for training for work. I won’t be able to go to a gym during this time. It was last minute but there isn’t anything I can do. Life happens sometimes. Luckily I’d just started the bridge and only completed up to week 3 day 1. Yesterday since I’d just found out I was going away I figured I’d just test my 1RM on the press instead of doing the planned week 3 day 2 of the bridge because I was annoyed and wanted to hit a pr before I go to make myself feel like I made progress and feel good. It worked. I hit a lifetime pr of 225lbs which is 13 more lbs than two months ago which I’m super psyched about but anyway… Now life threw a wrench in my plans and since I’d only really finished two weeks of the bridge prior to this trip, when I come back should I just restart the bridge again? I won’t have any more unplanned work stressors for the next 8 weeks or so when I get back so I know I’ll have the time to finish it out properly.
Life happens sometimes. You just gotta do the best you can with the cards you’re dealt. I’ve had to take a few days off for work or vacation, and I’ve always come back just fine. You could do either really, it wouldn’t make much difference in the long run. Either start it over, or just continue from where you were, which ever you feel most motivated for. Although if you do start it over I would start at week 2, as you’re already having your low stress week, haha.
Thanks dude. You’ve been super helpful to me these past few weeks when I ask questions and I just want to say thanks! Yeah plus to put a positive spin on this: I know RPE more now than I did 3 weeks ago so maybe when I get back I’ll be able to dial my sets in even more accurately. Also, you know how I was saying in another post I wasn’t sure if my press was gonna respond on the bridge? Somehow two weeks of training at weights I felt were too light to matter made my press go up 5 lbs. call it a good day or whatever but I hit 225 with some fast bar speed. Probably could’ve done 230
