Your advice on pain is spot on!

I’ve been running BBM templates for almost a year and had great success with them. I’d also like to thank you for your approach to pain and all the great videos and articles about it.

Right now I’m in the middle of Hypertrophy I. Yesterday I was high-bar squatting and something felt off in my back on the last warm-up set. After my first set 8@7, I felt very strong pain below the scapulas. My first thought was “damn, no exercise for a few days”, but then I remembered your podcasts and videos. I still felt pain when I unloaded the bar, but I tried to move on to the next exercise - overhead press. Surprisingly, almost no pain! I finished the 5 planned sets of OHP. The 3rd exercise of the day were paused RDLs, but those felt too painful, so I moved to the supplemental exercise and GPP work.

All in all, even though I thought that I needed to go home 10 minutes into my gym session, I ended up having 60 productive minutes in the gym.

Today I trained again and felt some pain even on the bench, but RDLs were totally fine. I haven’t tried high bar squats yet though, since they are a new movement for me and it’s always a bit uncomfortable. I think I’ll switch back to the SSB this week and try high bar later.

Thanks!
