2 Day Powerbuilding 1 template questions

Hi Barbell Medicine coaches,

I have a question please for the 2 day Powerbuilding Template. I purchased it and would like to run it with a hectic work schedule. I’m hoping to have two days in my week where I can train longer each session. I have two questions though please.

  1. I noticed that the supplemental hinge movements and supplemental squat movements alternate every other week. Since I can I train longer on those two days, may I please keep them in every week (so having both supplemental hinge and squat movements every week instead of every other week alternating)? I hope this is okay. I noticed that they also substitute the supplementary bench press and accessory bench press slots as well, but I was hoping to keep those pressing movements every week as well.

  2. So long as I hit the prescribed conditioning requirements to the best of my ability, can I add the these two conditioning sessions from “Hypertrophy 1 Gen 2.0 Block II” once a week to this program?

Specifically:

"1 session: 2 minutes of RPE 6-7 effort (moderately hard), 1 minute RPE 2-3 effort (easy) x 7 rounds

1 session: 20 minutes of Zone 2 (RPE 4-6,~70-80% maximum HR), then SIX 10-second sprints (RPE 8-9) with 50-seconds easy (RPE 2-3) effort (e.g. every minute on the minute), then 19-minutes of Zone 2"

I ran this conditioning protocol before with hypertrophy 1 Gen 2.0 and was hoping to run it again with Powerbuilding gen 2.0.

After running the hypertrophy 1, body building, and time crunch templates all through school, I am eager to run PB 1 to try to gain strength! Thank you for all you guys do and the awesome content you guys put out. I’ve been learning from Barbell Medicine since 2020 and it definitely has made me a better lifter!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, all of these changes would be fine. Adding more training load here moves it closer to the 3- and 4 -day variants, but this scheduling may work better for you!
