Adding or Substituting Sandbag Carries, Sled Pushes, and Farmer's Walks

I have the strongman template and have enjoyed the conditioning and “functional” portions that incorporate carries and sled pushes. I’ve seen better strength results with other templates though.

Where would you recommend adding these exercises in other templates? Where in GS&C2 or LFS for example? I own these as well and have seen great progress.

What I want to do is incorporate the carries and pushes into other templates really and I’m looking for where they might fit. Also, for time constraints and adherence, what exercise should I replace?

My goal is variety and conditioning and I happen to enjoy the training.

This type of GPP work would likely best work at the end of a lifting session or before some conditioning. Biggest issue, as with all programming, is going ot be fatigue management. I’d start with the intensity and volume low for any additional items you add, spending no more than ~ 10 min on it per session at first. The goal would be to work up to “full” training load over ~ 2 months or so.
