First time poster here,
I’ve been lifting weights since sometime in late Summer or early Fall of 2020. I started taking things seriously in the Winter focusing on Strength training using programs I found on Muscle & Strength, modifying them as I went using my own knowledge and taking equipment availability into consideration. By the end of my previous program, I would say that I was already well into “Intermediate status” and decided to run The Bridge V1 as I had heard great results and was still doing splits up until then. I’m four weeks into The Bridge (Big gainz) and obviously therefor have four weeks left and I already have “What’s next?” constantly on my mind.
My goal that I’m working towards is competing in a powerlifting meet approximately one year from now when I feel as though I’ll be more confident with my total. Since I have primarily been focused on strength training for the past 6 or so months, I was thinking of cycling in one program based around hypertrophy before just committing to running Strength templates.
My question is basically should I run Hypertrophy I or Powerbuilding I for my hypertrophy cycle? The main reason I’m asking for input is because I have to take into consideration my equipment availability as I lift at home. I have an SML-1 Monster Lite Squat Stand w/ safety arms, a barbell, an EZ curl bar, enough plates to load 510lbs on the barbell, an adjustable bench, some DIY Rack pull blocks, and a pair each of 25lb and 30lb dumbbells. In short, I don’t want to buy a template just to realize that it’s very dumbbells focused as I have no intention of purchasing more dumbbells this year.
If it matters at all:
Height: 5"9
Weight: 180lbs
Squat: 340lbs (estimated off of a set of 5 at RPE 8)
Bench: 255lbs (RPE f*ckin 11)
Deadlift: 385 (RPE 9ish)
Thanks in advance and sorry for the essay,
Josh
