Good afternoon,
Im currently starting the final block of low fatigue, General S&C. Absolutely loved it, and really struggling with what program to run next.
Brief reminder on history, began training since 2020 but was very much off and on between marriage and a kid up until summer of 2024. Been consistent since Summer of last year. Started with Beginner Template, then PB1 Gen 2, twice, then Gen S&C 1 gen 2. And finally low fatigue Gen S&C gen 2, which I just started the final block.
My primary goal of training has always been health, but my primary motivator of training has always been increasing 1rms in the big 3. That said, after the 2nd run of PB1 Gen 2, I decided to focus on weight loss, and gen fitness to improve athleticism for rec sports (specifically pickleball). So you recommended GS&C. Im now down from 192 pounds to about 172 since May of 2025, and down from like a 37” waist I think, to a 34” waist. So happy with where my weight and physique is. I’ve really noticed an improvement with my conditioning and quickness/explosivness in rec sports. Lastly, while I’ve not seen significant gains in 1rms (if any gains) I have not seen any losses either, given the weight loss over the time period, that feels like a win (I think).
All in all, the Gen S&C programs just really feel like they did the job. Lastly, they’ve been a lot of fun and I enjoy the Olympic variations.
Thats a lot to say im struggling with whats next. I would like to compete in my first powerlifting meet sometime in 2026, but have no meet scheduled. I still care about increasing my 1rms, but im also enjoying getting my athleticism back. I have not felt this athletic since my 20s. It seems like the power/speed movements of S&C templates are making a difference (weight loss probably helps).
Im leaning towards maybe repeating low fatigue GS&C again as im just enjoying it, but if I do, that would be a little over 6 to 8 minths of not running a strength specific program. Feels like a long time if I actually care about my 1rms. I have a long term goal of benching 275 to 300 pounds. Deadlifting 500, and squatting 450. 39 year old male, current E1rms, bench 240, squat 400, DL 450.
Im just so torn on PB program or repeat GS&C, I think ill be fine and happy with either direction, so curious what your guidance would be, as you haven’t steered me wrong in the past?
As usual, thanks for all you do.
