Baraki’s Methods of Regulating/Measuring Food Intake

Hey, weird question maybe dumb…
I remember Baraki once said in a video that he has no clue how many calories he eats a day, but just weighs himself at the end of the day to see if he’s undereaten or overeaten that day, and adjusts accordingly. Also he said he goes out to eat on a regular basis with his wife, how does one regulate intake if you’re going out to eat and can’t be certain how the food is prepared? Because obviously he’s found a way in which he can semi-accurately accurately regulate his food without having to fully count macros and calories. Baraki doesn’t seem like the type of guy to want to do a full day of eating…but I’m lowkey interested!

I actually tend to eat the same thing (or at least the same type/“template” of a meal) for breakfast / lunch most days, and I guess it depends what you mean by “going out to eat on a regular basis” – even pre-covid, this was not typically more than 1-2x/week, and when we do go out I tend to choose options with protein/carb and vegetables when possible. If none of those are available I’ll have something else but typically moderate my intake a bit and “catch up” later in the evening by having a shake or something like that.

I know exactly what you mean, and that makes perfect sense. I appreciate the response, I’ve gotten into a rhythm recently of doing exactly what you’ve described here.
