Hi, I want to know if it’s worth/possible to add some additional exercises to the bridge? something like more focuses on bodybuilding stuff, like side raises, bicep curls, tricep extension, neck curl/extension, etc…,
Or this may have an impact on recovery?,
Thanks
What’s your training history? Have you been doing this stuff before The Bridge? What are your primary goals?
I think the general bias here is that none of that stuff (other than arm work tris/bis) really matter, and that the goal of The Bridge is to teach you the process of getting stronger, getting familiar with RPE, and building your work capacity - especially assuming you’re coming off of a novice linear progression where volume was low and intensity was not auto-regulated.
That said, if you’re into bodybuilding or just wanna be jacked - sure - you can try that stuff, I don’t think it’ll impact your recovery very much.
Bridge v2.0 does optionally program in curls and tricep PDs.
In general I’d say just do it as written as it’s only 7-8 weeks. Get a feel for the programming. Once you’re used to that, working in some assistance exercises like side laterals is fine, just scale up the volume slowly.
My training history…
It started on around march, my first program was Candito LP, but then I switched to SS, I made good progress I think for my body composition, a month ago I started the Nuckols begginer program because on SS I was stalling on most of my lifts, and now I’m thinking on going for the Bridge, maybe next week.
My main goal is to increase strenght and size, I’m fairly skinny (and underweight I think)
Thanks
Okay, thanks man, I’ve been doing this type of exercise lately on some of my rest days and at the end of the workout, but with not that much volume
