Cardio between sets

So I’ve recently gotten into the habbit of doing some sort of cardio in between working sets of weights.

for example, if I am benching I would do a 2 minutes of jump rope and then go to my next set.

if I was doing squats I might do 1-2 minutes of SkiErg between sets (total of 2 minutes at least still not doing squats)

is this crazy or as I see it a good way of maximizing gym time?
